Northumberland County Council and the Rural Design Centre are working on a project to identify and address the non-technical barriers to reducing emissions across agriculture in Northumberland.
This Innovate UK funded project (running until June 2025) will co-develop proposals, led by insight from farmers, stakeholders and supply chains to help inform future council services and support. As well as holding various engagement events with farmers, external stakeholders and council representatives, our work so far has included:
70+ surveys completed
300+ farmers and wider stakeholdersengaging with the programme
80 attendeesjoined us at Kirkley Hall Campus on the 9th October for Northumberland County Council’s Farming in a Changing Climate Conference.
We continue to gather insights around key challenges faced by farmers and the wider industry, planning further engagement events to help shape potential solutions in coming months. If you would like to get involved or find out more about our project please get in touch.
